FREDITH MARIE ADKINS, 78, of Upper Big Creek Road, Branchland WV, went to be with her Lord Friday, April 30, 2010, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington WV.
She was born May 16, 1931, in Lincoln County, a daughter of the late Mathias and Dollie Dequaise Adkins. She was a homemaker and a christian. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Veronda Hidalgo, seven brothers, Conward Adkins, Raymond "Shorty" Adkins, Guy Adkins, Mathias "Speedy" Adkins, David Jack Adkins, Cecil Dean Adkins and Dewane "Mickey" Adkins; one sister, Bula Adkins. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Winford Adkins; daughter, Billie Jean Robinson; five sons and their wives, Winford Gay and Cheryl Adkins, Michael and Lillie Adkins, Ancel Adkins, Randel "Boo" Adkins, and Mathias Jarrell Adkins; one brother and sister-in-law, Andrew and Glenda Adkins; one sister, Flora Mae Lovejoy; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at Handley Funeral Home, Hamlin WV. Burial will follow in the Winford Adkins Cemetery, Upper Big Creek Road. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
