Note: From a list of tombstones compliled in August 1927 by Mrs. R.H. Stickley and
Mrs. B.W. Hooper. The list was copied by
Mrs. L.W. McCowen, of Johnson City, TN, and supplied to the authors of "Sacred To The Memory." The name appeared on the list as Conary ? D. S. Pryor.

The epitaph reads, "Jesus said, Suffer the little children to come unto me for such is the kingdom of God."

Canaro is the son of Thomas & Margaret J. (Clark) Pryor. Thomas was a carpenter. Thomas had two other sons: John C. Pryor and Thomas Pryor, Jr., both served in Capt. Lynch's East Tennessee Light Artillery (Confederate). Photos of John C. Pryor and family may be found on the website: tnpryors.com

Date of Birth: April 28, 1850.
The initial S. is for Smith.
Father: Thomas D. Pryor #109975805.
Mother: Margaret J. Clark Pryor #109975877.
