Great Aunt Minnie was the oldest daughter of Jasper Hicks Parham. She married my great uncle Hewitt Bernard Hicks. They had two children, Jasper and Janie. I remember meeting Aunt Minnie sometime in the late 50s. She was living with Jasper and his wife and daughters. She had fallen out of bed and broken her hip, but she didn't want to disturb a projected trip that Jasper was doing that day, so she had her granddaughters help her back to bed, and she just waited there until they got home. Then she went to the hospital. The doctors said she'd never walk again, but when I met her, she was walking with a cane or walker and was looking forward to throwing that away.
