Surviving are her children, Al "Butch" (Yvonne) VanEssen, Gary (Wanda) VanEssen of South Carolina and Debra Brown; two brothers, Alvin DeBoer of Elko, NV and Sam (Vi) DeBoer of Churchill, MT; sister, Joanne (Wolfgang) Bettenhausen; 10 grandchildren, Rod and Kim, Little Gary, Shelly and Tiffany, Dustin, Damion, Devin, Melissa, Angel and 14 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Leone of South Dakota. She was preceded in death by her brothers, George and Lyle DeBoer and her sister, Elizabeth Gumont of California.
According to her wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Friday, October 27, 2000 at 1:00 p.m. at Community Bible Church in Grandville. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Holland, 270 Hoover Blvd, Holland, MI 49423. Arrangements by Memorial Alternatives.
