Daniel married Emma Thorn 9/13/1859 and had 7 children, however 4 died in infancy. He was an assemblyman and also Northumberland supervisor in 1877. He eventually settled on the farm at the junction of Wall Street and Goff Road in Bacon Hill. His homestead and portraits of him and his wife are on page 411 of Sylvester's 1878 History of Saratoga County.

This from "Early Days In Eastern Saratoga County by Mrs. J B (Grace)VanDerwerker 1928 p.78: "On the road to Grangerville a Conrad Cramer first owned the W.S. Deyoe farm. Damiel H. Deyoe purchasedit in 1860 and it has been in that family ever since. Three generations of Deyoes have been born in the same room of the house, Mr. Deyoe was an influential man in the town, having been sheriff, Supervisor and Member of the Assembly.
There were 5 Deyoe brothers, Jonathan, who lived where Mr. Frank Bean Sr. still resides; Gerardus, who lived on the James Cramer farm west of Bacon Hill; James who lived on the Dr. Billings farm where his daughter, Miss Sadie Deyoe now lives; W. S. Deyoe who lived in Bacon Hill and Daniel who lived on the place toward Grangerville now occupied by his grandson, W. S. Deyoe.
