SERVICES HELD FOR EVERET A HINER
Funeral services for Evert A Hiner, 79, long-time resident of Madison County were held Monday afternoon at the Rexburg Third LDS ward with Bishop Mark Ricks officiating. He died Friday morning following a heart attack in his home.
He was born March 25, 1888 in Salinda, Kansas, the son of William Harmon Hiner and Mary Sisemore Hiner. The family moved to Boise in 1906.
He came with his family to Rexburg in 1915 and has lived here since then. He dry farmed for several years, worked with sheep and was watermaster for the Holley Water Users for the past nine years.
Surviving are his widow and three children: Mrs Ludeen Bevan, Pocatello; Ted Hiner, Lyman; Bert Hiner, Rexburg; two sisters, Mrs Fred Pickrell and Mrs Oscar Summerville, both of Boise.
Family prayer was offered by Lowell Bevan and prelude and postlude was played by ElRay Cook.
A double mixed quartet, consisting of Lucille Spaulding, LoRene Jenkins, Grace Powell, Clanthe Cooper, Clieve Spaulding, Dick Cooper, Peter Ricks Jr and R Vernon Ricks sang "The Lord is My Shepherd" accompanied by ElRay Cook.
The invocation was offered by Dale Murdock and Boyd Yancey presented the life history. Mildred Mortensen sang "I'm a Pilgrim" accompanied by Donna Mortensen. Marion D Nelson was the speaker and the double mixed quartet sang "I Know That My Redeemer Lives."
Benediction was by Alvin Munns and dedicatory prayer by Erastus Weekes. Graveside services were conducted by Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Honorary pallbearers were World War I Veterans and acting pallbearers were J. Ray Byrne, Lee Petersen, David Thomas, Ray Bigler, Elwood Mattson, Sterling Murdock Jr. Flowers were under the direction of the Rexburg Third Ward Relief Society and interment was at the Sugar Cemetery under direction of Flamm Funeral home.
