A memorial service is 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Great Falls, with burial of ashes in Mount Olivet Cemetery.
Survivors include a sister, Alice Feeney of Villa Park, Ill; brothers Frank (Marie) Walsh of Great Falls, Dan (Joan) Walsh of Bloomingdale, Ill, and Pat Walsh of Wilmington, Ill; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bill was born in Chicago, Ill., the seventh of 12 children, and was raised in Wheaton, Ill. He graduated from DePaul University in Chicago and continued studies for a master's degree in Toronto Canada.
He entered the Army Air Force on November 7, 1941, as a teletype operator. He was assigned to the 370th ASC and saw duty in Normandy, northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe. He was awarded the Victory Medal, American Theater Ribbon, Service Stripe, European African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon with Silver battle star, Overseas Service Bars and the Good Conduct Medal. He was honorably discharged November 13, 1945. He later lived in Great Falls from 1966 to 1993.
He enjoyed fishing and reading.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Elizabeth Walsh; brothers Jack Walsh, Francis Walsh, Roger Walsh, Joe Walsh, Martin Walsh, and Father Anthony Walsh; and a sister, Betty J Butler.
