Funeral Tomorrow for Mrs. Fitch
Funeral services for Mrs. Martha Woods Finch will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. at Oak Grove Church near Rocky Ford, with the Rev. Gus Groover of Statesboro conducting. Burial will be in Finch Cemetery. Mrs. Finch, 75, died last night at a local hospital. The widow of Dude Finch, she was a native of Bullocy County, but had lived in Savannah for the last 14 years. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Temple.
Pallbearers will be the following grandsons: Taft Finch Jr., Roy Finch, D. C. Finch, William Barnes, George Barnes and James Floyd Barnes. Honorary pallbearers will be George Clifton, Riley Finch, Marlee Parrish, Elliott Johnson, Ted Victory, Grady Sills, Sherman Finch, Lonny Finch, Ester Lucas, Horace Mixon, Richard Daughtry and Lincoln Womack. The body will be taken from Savannah to the home of Mrs. Finch's daughter, Mrs. Lloyd Barnes of near Statesboro, where it will remain until time of the funeral. Barnes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include five sons, George W. Finch, Wabassa, Fla., Taft Finch, Fellsmore, Fla., Tilton Finch and Clifford W. Finch, both of Savannah, and Woodrow Finch of Statesboro; two daughters, Mrs. Lloyd Barnes, Statesboro, and Mrs. Harvey Fagler, Wrens; three sisters, Mrs. Lou Milton of Savannah, Mrs. Ethel Hendrix of Statesboro, and Mrs. General Brannen of Savannah, 25 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
