Ralph Herron, 76, Church Street, Canajoharie, died late Friday evening at the Cobleskill Community Hospital following an illness of five weeks. He was born Sept. 3, 1892, in Cobleskill, the son of Leroy and Emma VanValkenburg Herron. In June 1911 he married the former Helen Fellows in Richmond. Mr. Herron moved to Canajoharie in 1941 and was employed as a printer by the Beech-Nut Packing Company for many years. He was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church and the Oddfellow's Lodge of Richmond. He is survived by his wife, three daughters, Mrs. Clarence Bernstein and Mrs. Walter Yerdon of Canajoharie and Mrs. Louis Rivenburg of Central Bridge; two sons, Charles Herron of Canajoharie and Franklyn Herron of Canajoharie RD; two brothers, Lester and Nelson Herron, both of Cobleskill, also 16 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and nieces, nephews and cousins. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Houghtaling Funeral Home in Canajoharie with the Rev. Theodore Hamm and the Rev. Frank Skinner officiating. Burial will be in the Fort Plain Cemetery. Friends may call at their convenience beginning Sunday at the funeral home.
