Utica Observer Dispatch, Sunday, August 31, 1969 - RALPH HERRON - CANAJOHARIE – Ralph Herron, 76, of 42 Church Street, a retired employee of the Beech-Nut Corp., died Friday in Cobleskill Community Hospital. He was born in Cobleskill and attended schools there. He married Helen Fellows in 1911 in Richmondville. They came to Canajoharie in 1941. He retired several years ago. He was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church and the Richmondville Lodge, IQOF. Besides his wife he leaves three daughters, Mrs. Clarence (Madelyn) Bernstein and Mrs. Walter (Joyce) Yerdon, both of Canajoharie, and Mrs. Louis (Janneth) Rivenburgh, Central Bridge; two sons, Charles and Vivian Herron and Franklyn and Muriel Herron, both of Canajoharie; two brothers, Lester and Nelson Herron, Cobleskill, The funeral will be at 2 Tuesday from the Houghtaling Funeral Home. Burial will be in Fort Plain Cemetery. Calling hours are tonight and tomorrow.

He was born Sept. 3, 1892, in Cobleskill, the son of Leroy and Emma VanValkenburg Herron. In June 1911 he married the former Helen Fellows in Richmond. Mr. Herron moved to Canajoharie in 1941 and was employed as a printer by the Beech-Nut Packing Company for many years. He was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church and the Oddfellow's Lodge of Richmond. He is survived by his wife, three daughters, Mrs. Clarence Bernstein and Mrs. Walter Yerdon of Canajoharie and Mrs. Louis Rivenburg of Central Bridge; two sons, Charles Herron of Canajoharie and Franklyn Herron of Canajoharie RD; two brothers, Lester and Nelson Herron, both of Cobleskill, also 16 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and nieces, nephews and cousins. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Houghtaling Funeral Home in Canajoharie with the Rev. Theodore Hamm and the Rev. Frank Skinner officiating. Burial will be in the Fort Plain Cemetery. Friends may call at their convenience beginning Sunday at the funeral home.
