He was the brother of Ada Lusby Rose, James A. Lusby, Ira Estes Lusby and Charles M. Lusby. He also had two other sisters, Daisy who died in infancy and Homer (yes, a female) who died at age 23.
Walter was first married to Allie, nee Dacus, Barlow and became the stepfather of her daughter, Norma Barlow. They had a son, Russel. Allie died in 1902. Allie was also Walter's first cousin, their mother's were sisters.
Sometime between the 1910 census where he was listed as a widower and September of 1918, when he registered for the draft, he married Mary A., nee Henson, Krizan a widow with two sons.
The four are listed together in the 1920 census, living in West, Texas and he and Mary are listed in the 1930 census, living in Waco. His father, C.M. Lusby, was visiting them in Waco when he died (1922) and his body was taken back to Paris, Texas by train for burial.
