DENNIS EUGENE (GENE) CONCIDINE

Dennis Eugene (Gene) Concidine, 78, of Elva, Ill., passed away Tuesday evening, Dec 7, 1999, at Kishwaukee Community Hospital.

Born May 6, 1921, in DeKalb, he was the son of Roy and Gladys (Mosher) Concidine. Gene was a bee-keeper and he traveled back and forth from Illinois to Florida. He retired from Northern Illinois University after 20 years of service in the Central Stores Department and later worked at the McDonald's Oasis. He was proud to be a veteran of World War II, having served in the Army Air Corps, in which he was duty in Africa and Arabia. He was a member of the American Legion Post #66 in DeKalb.

He is survived by a brother, Don (Gerry) Concidine of Floral City Fla.; s sister, Sylvia (Phil) Zellner of Floral City; four nieces, Carole (Steve) Hilleson of Elva and Sylvia (Milan) Krpan Jr. of Sycamore, who both considered Gene as their father figure, Paula Zillner of Fort Collins, Colo., and Dena Santicola of Artesia Calif.; a nephew, Roy Concidine of Inverness, Fla.; three great nieces, Amber (Bob) Ansteth, Kristen Hilleson and Jessica Freeman; a great-nephew, Jason Freeman; and a great-great nephew, Cody Ansteth.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Carrie Ann Ferrill; and a nephew, Donnie Concidine.
