He was the youngest son of William Jasper and Martha Emeline (Roberson) Moore. With the family, he moved from Mount Hope, Lawrence, Alabama, to Wise County Texas sometime in the 1880s. He married Cornelia "Neely" or "Neilie" Hulett about 1901, probably in the Oklahoma Territory in what would become Cotton County. They had no children that lived. He was a farmer.
