Dailey Eugene Abney, Jr., 71, Dixiana-Domino Road, Lexington, retired horse farm manager, widower of Carolyn Berryman Abney, died Saturday, May 02, 2009 at Pine Meadows Health Care. He was born November 21, 1937 in Clark County, son of the late Dailey Eugene and Frances Long Abney, a graduate of the Clark County schools, and was a member of Central Baptist Church. He is survived by two daughters, Sharlene (Stephen) Lanter, Lexington, Lora Abney, Nicholasville; a son, Duke (Paula) Abney, Lexington, a sister, Dorothy Edenfield, Indianapolis, IN; seven grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Marvin Abney. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 7, at the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home by Rev. Dan Russell with burial in Evergreen Memory Gardens. Casket bearers will be Bill Henson, Ronnie Berryman, Mike Berryman, Ricky Whitaker, Josh Moreideth, Stephen Berryman, and Fred Williamson. Honorary bearers will be Glen Berryman and Nelson McMakin. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday.
