Mary E. Wilkins, 73, of Woodstock, died Friday afternoon, Aug 19. She was an employee of the Champaign Telephone Co. of Urbana, a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church and Ladies Guild of Mechanicsburg. She was a past Democratic committeeperson for Champaign County, a past member of the Mechanicsburg Legion Auxiliary and a two term Woodstock Village Council Member. She was born in Meadville, Pa, on Mar 18 1915 to Clarence W. and Jessie Schrubb McWilliams, who preceded her in death. Surviving are her husband, Charles Wilkins, whom she married on May 14, 1939, in Covington, KY, one daughter, Mrs. Marsha Barbeau of Sunbury, four sons, Steve and Rick Wilkins of Urbana, Philip Wilkins of Stow, and Tony Wilkins of Cable; 11 grandchildren, two brothers, Lee McWilliams of Urbana, and Jack McWilliams of Masury and one sister, Arlene McDonald of Massachusetts. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Skillman-McDonald Funeral Home in Mechanicsburg with the Rev. John R. Wolbert officiating. Interment will follow in the Woodstock Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Parish prayers will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 8 p.m. Contributions may be made to the Cancer Association of Champaign County or Mercy Hospital of Urbana Hospice.
