Andrew E. "Andy" Snyder, 88, entered into rest on Saturday morning, April 3, 2010, at the home of his son and daughter-in-law, Bruce A. Sr. and Teresa Snyder.

He was born Aug. 23, 1921, in Selinsgrove, a son of the late Edwin and Kate (Troup) Snyder. He was married to the former Doris Jean Aucker who preceded him on Aug. 6, 1994. On July 4, 1999, he married Hazel A. (Reichenbach) Weiser, who survives. His passing breaks a marital union of 10 years.

Andy attended the Verdilla grammar schoolhouse.

He retired after 40 years of service from Rhoads Mill, Selinsgrove.

He was a member of St. Paul's U.C.C. at Verdilla, the Port Trevorton fire company, the Dauntless Hook & Ladder Fire Company, the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge No. 1173, and the Rooster's Corner Sportsmen Association, all of Selinsgrove.

Andy was known to be a hard worker and a wonderful cook.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Bruce A. Sr. and Teresa Snyder, of Selinsgrove; one daughter and son-in-law, Sara Kay and Gary Riehl, of Middleburg; one stepson, Ralph Weiser and wife Dorothy, of Selinsgrove; seven grandchildren, Bruce Snyder Jr., Amy Jo Snyder, Cody Snyder, Adam Freed, Joshua Franck, Billie Jean Franck, and Kerry Feltman; five great-grandchildren, Cheryl Pysher, Shiann Snyder, Aliva Freed, Alexis Freed, and Nathan Snyder; one great-great-grandson, Andrew; two step-grandchildren, Jeff Weiser, and Tammy Ulrich; and six step-great-grandchildren.

Andy was the last of his immediate family being preceded by two brothers, and two sisters.

Friends and family are invited for the viewing from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Paul's United Church of Christ at Verdilla, Produce Road, Selinsgrove, followed by the funeral at 2, with Pastor Chad E. Herrold officiating and assisted by Pastor Charles H. Melton.

Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery at Verdilla, Selinsgrove.

The George P. Garman Funeral Homes, Mount Pleasant Mills have been entrusted with the arrangements.
