REVOLUTIONARY WAR VETERAN

4th Regiment, New York Military under Captain Anthony Bries and Colonel Kilian Van Rensselaer. He was 14yrs old when first entering the Military, - and after the Am.Revolution George Settled in Bradford Co, Penn, - which lies directly South of Chemung Co, NY. His brother John 5yrs older also settled in Bradford Co, and remained there, with his desendants.

"Bodies of George and Nancy Hicks were moved from the Josiah Hicks Farm to the Hicks Cemetery, Hicks, Town of Baldwin, Chemung County New York after workers came across the bodies on March 21, 1934. The Daughters of the American Revolution have placed a marker on the grave of George Hicks 2nd. He is listed in the DAR Patriots Index.

George first came to Canada and settled near St. John's, then to New York." He appeared in the 1810, 1820 & 1830 censuses for Tioga, NY. {research credited to Steve Lavoy, 2003}

George was married twice. He had six children with first wife Mary Joslin and six more with Nancy Hemenway. He was the son of George Hicks b.1740, and Mary Martin, both Born in England, & was Brought to America by his Parents, with his Siblings.
