PROMINENT MAN DIES IN HOSPITAL

Death came to Mr. Thomas Marshall Dotson, age 77 at Coble Tennessee at an early hour Sunday morning April 2nd. Following an illness of several months. For a few days he had been visiting a friend after having been for several months in a Nashville infirmary. His health had improved to some extent but he was still suffering from a heart ailment.
After being prepared in Waverly for burial the remains were carried to the home of a brother-in-law, Mr. Will Burgess near Few's Chapel. Funeral services were conducted at the family cemetery Monday afternoon by Rev. B. J. Staggs and Rev. M. S. Schrock of McEwen and Rev. Matthews of Luff-Bowen Co. funeral directors in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Dotson had had an active career in farming, stock-raising and timber manufacturing until ill health over took him several years ago. He at one time had operated some of the finest farms in that section and had been successful in those years. His many friends throughout the county had been sympathetic as ill health and adversities became his misfortune.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Estelle Dotson, McEwen and two daughters, Mrs. Ella Winstead, McEwen and Mrs. Ila Wilson, Troy, one son Mr. Billie George Dotson, Yellow Creek, also four brothers survive, Mr. M. V. Dotson, McEwen, Messrs. James and George Dotson, Nashville, and Mr. R. L. Dotson, Hot Springs, Ark.
