MRS. W. KARSTAEDT, 64, DIES AT HOME MONDAY

The death of Mrs. Wilhelmina Karstaedt, nee Steighorst, at the age of 64, occurred on the afternoon of July 16 at her home in the town of Schleswig.

The deceased was born July 7, 1864 in Germany. At the age of three years she came to this country with her parents, who settled in the town of Sheboygan, where she grew to womanhood. She was married in December 1885, to Frank Karstaedt, and settled on a farm in the town of Mosel, moving later to the town of Eaton.

For the past 33 years they lived in the town of Schleswig on a farm near Wilke’s Lake. Twelve years ago they sold their farm to their son Oscar, and moved into another house on the same farm. Her husband preceded her in death one month ago.

Of the eight children born to them, one died in infancy. Those surviving are; Otto, town of Meeme, Mrs. Joseph Staege, town of Schleswig, Oscar, on the homestead farm, Edwin, town of Newton, Frank, Mrs. Helmuth Gierke and Mrs. Arnold Dedering, town of Schleswig. Two step-sisters, three step-brothers, and 22 grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services are being held this Thursday afternoon at 1:30 from the home, the Rev. Otto Saewert officiating. Interment will be in the Fischer cemetery on the Ucker road, town of Schleswig.
