Mose T. Alexander, 80, 418 North Moulton, died at Community Memorial Hospital at 3:06 p.m. Tuesday. He had been in failing health for some time. Born July 4 1891, in Randolph county, Alexander had lived his entire life here. His parents were Sanderson and Harriett Stephenson Alexander. Mr. Alexander was retired from the Moberly Fire Department, which he served 29 years, 15 years as chief. He started with the department when it was composed of volunteers. He worked for the Brown Shoe Co., maintenance department eight years. Mr. Alexander was a member of the First Christian Church. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Other (Loella) Kellogg, Moberly; and Mrs. Odis (Jessie Helen) Hendren, Moberly; son M. J. Alexander, Moberly; sister, Mrs. Walter Jones, Fremont, Mich.; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sallie, in 1967, and by three children and 10 brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Million-Greer and Comstock Chapel by Louis Harris, with burial in Oakland Cemetery. Visitation started at 2 p.m. today.
