James Bough, Respected Farmer, Passes Away After Long Illness
James T. Bough died Friday morning peacefully unconscious at the age of 50 years.
Besides his devoted wife, he leaves three sons to mourn him as well as three brothers and one sister.
Mr. Bough was raised in Illinois. As a young man he went first to Iowa and then to Montana where he found work with A. J. Voight at the stucco plant up Belt creek.
About the year 1900 he was married to Miss Dora Siegling, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gus Siegling of Armington. To them were born three sons, Lawrence, now 19 years of age, Frank 17, and Forrest 15.
Mr. Bough has been ill for some three years of a disease that seemed to prey upon the red corpuscles of his blood and transfusion has been resorted to at various times to prolong his life.
He was deeply interested in the success of the oil prospect on his ranch and was disappointed in its failure.
For the past few weeks he has known that the end was not far off and he put his business affairs in shape for his widow and sons.
The funeral was held Monday morning at 9 o'clock from St. Mark's Catholic church, the Rev. Fr. McHugh officiating. Burial was made in Pleasant View cemetery.
The church was crowded with friends of the deceased and his family. Phillip Bough of Chicago, Peter Bough of Sun River, and Dan Keys of Sun River, brothers of the departed, were present. A sister in Illinois was unable to come.
Mr. Bough was a square man, a good farmer and good citizen. He died before he had fulfilled the full measure of years but he died rich in the respect of his fellowman. He has gone on. The life of pain and illness is over and his family while they mourn him may be glad that he left them such a heritage.
