Mary Susan (Duttera) Harbaugh, of New Oxford, died April 27, 2010. She was the wife of Paul H. Harbaugh, who died June 26, 1996.

She was born February 13, 1917, in New Oxford, the daughter of the late John H. and Carrie Bell (Livelsberger) Duttera.

Mary was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Oxford, where she taught Nursery Sunday School classes, served as treasurer, served on the Altar Guild, helped with church dinners, enjoyed the quilting and sewing groups, and loved helping her dear friend Karen with newsletters and bulletins for the church.

She was a life long resident of New Oxford and a 1935 graduate of New Oxford High School.

During the late 1930's Mrs. Harbaugh worked as a telephone operator in New Oxford. Mary also wrote the New Oxford column for the Evening Sun, and was a member of the New Oxford AARP.

Mary had a passion for sports, especially girls' softball and basketball, and Major League baseball. Her flower garden and yard were a huge enjoyment to her, and she will be missed by her dear friends, especially those with whom she enjoyed lunch every month.

Mary immensely enjoyed her grandchildren and was anxiously awaiting the birth of her first great-grandson in May.

She is survived by a son, Alan W. Harbaugh and wife, Minda of Biglerville; three daughters, Susan P. Eline and husband, Bradley of Hanover, Linda K. Madigan and husband, Charles of Evanston, IL, and Audrey E. Flickinger and husband, John of Abbottstown; eight grandchildren, Justin M. Eline, Eamon G. Madigan, Brian C. Madigan, Conor R. Madigan, Alison D. Harbaugh, Erica K. Fake, M. Joshua Lookenbill, and Carrie B. Henry; three stepgrandchildren; and three step great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by two brothers, Joseph and John Duttera; and two sisters, Maggie Mae Millar and Louise Alwine.

Burial was in New Oxford Cemetery.
