Florence Fothergill

Florence Fothergill, 79, of Port Charlotte, Fla., passed away Thursday, Feb. 8, 2007. She was born Jan. 29, 1928, in Black Lick, Ohio.

Florence was a farmer in Johnstown, Ohio, before moving to Port Charlotte in 1981. She was a cashier with Wal-Mart for a short time. Florence was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church in Punta Gorda, Fla.

She is survived by her loving husband of 12 years, Donald; daughter, Samantha Shepherd of DeRidder, La.; son, Ronald Goldsberry of Croton, Ohio.; stepdaughter, Gloria Cunningham of Massillon, Ohio; and stepsons, Roy Fothergill of Port Charlotte and Bobby Fothergill of Massillon, Ohio.; brothers, Vernal "Doc" Darst of Pataskala, Ohio and Bud Darst of Johnstown, Ohio; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two husbands, Al Goldsberry and Harold Edgerly.

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 23, 2007, at Faith Lutheran Church, 4005 Palm Drive, Punta Gorda. The family requests donations to the Faith Lutheran Church Building Fund.

Arrangements were made in Port Charlotte.
