J.A. Melson, 68 years old, residing at 221 W. 20th street, died Saturday evening at a city hospital. He had been a residen tof Oklahoma City for the last twenty-two years and had been prominent in the cotton business for thirty-five years. HE was a member of W.O.W., the Odd Ffellows and Masonic lodges. Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, R.Q. Melson, Oklahoma City peace officer, and Tome Melson, of Konowa, Okla.; three daughters, Miss Pearl Melson of Oklahoma City, Mrs. Louise Cushenberry of Sulphur, and Mrs. Kate Emanuel, also of Sulphur; one brother, Judge J.M. Melson of Sulphur Springs, Texas; and one sister, Mrs. Mary Ticer of Pickton, Texas. Funeral services will be conducted from the Hahn funeral home Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock by Rev. Lincoln McConnell. Burial will be in Fairlawn cemetery.
