Bertha Victoria Willis, 75 of Heath Nursing Convalescent Center, formerly of Cambridge, died at 1:10 a.m. today (April 27, 1989) at the center.

She was born Oct. 9, 1913, in Oxford Township, Coshocton County, a daughter of the late John Thomas and Caroline Herbert Smith She was a retired LPN at Guernsey Memorial Hospital and a former employee of the Daily Jeffersonian. She was a member of the Moose Ladies Auxiliary, VFW Ladies Auxiliary, and the Guernsey County Democrat Club and was a secretary for the LPN Association.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J. Edgar Willis, on November 19, 1961. They were married Dec. 23, 1932. Also deceased are one son and one daughter.

Mrs. Willis leaves three sons, William Willis and Dr. Richard WIllis, both of Columbus, and Roger Blackburn of Winter Springs, Fla.; two daughters, Carolyn Whitehair of Pleasant City and Joanne McCance of Thornville; one step son, Robert Willis of Columbus; one brother Walter Smith of Kettering; 17 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Friend my call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 P.M. Friday at Scott Funeral Home and one hour prior to 11 A.M. Saturday with Dr. Ronald Fleming officiating. Burial will be in Northwood Cemetery.
