"Mrs. Eddie L. Boyd, 83, a native of Jemison, Ala., and resident of Gulfport since 1905 until 20 months ago when she moved to Biloxi, died after a long illness at 10:05 a.m. today at the residence of a daughter, Mrs. Alphonse Groue, 896 Fayard St. Besides her daughter, she is survived by two sons, John E. Boyd, Houston, Texas, and George N. Boyd, Gulfport; 20 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, and a brother, Wilson Spivey, Jemison, Ala. Mrs. Boyd was a member of First Baptist Church in Gulfport. Funeral arrangements are incomplete pending word from relatives. Services will be from Bradford Funeral Home and burial will be in Biloxi Cemetery."
