RUTHERFORDTON, NC-- Nettie Bradley McCluney, age 101, formerly of Spartanburg, died Wednesday January 16, 2008 at Oak Grove Health Care in Rutherfordton, NC where she was a resident. She was a native of Rutherford County and a daughter of the late Henry Decatur Bradley and Hattie Bradley; a homemaker and a member of Green Creek First Baptist Church in Polk County. She was also the widow of the late Reverend J. L. McCluney who was a minister at numerous churches in Spartanburg County and South Carolina. As former residents of Spartanburg County, Mrs. McCluney lived at Skylan Place and lastly at Summit Place before moving to Rutherford County. Survivors include her sister, Pearl Bradley Hardin of Forest City, NC and a number of nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at Eleven o'clock AM on Saturday January 19, 2008 at The Padgett and King Mortuary, 227 East Main Street, Forest City with the Reverend Dr. Donald McIntire officiating. Visitation will follow the service at the mortuary. Entombment services will follow at Two o'clock PM at the Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Spartanburg. Memorials may be made to Green Creek First Baptist Church, 534 Coxe Road, Columbus, NC 28722.
