EXETER, Mo. — David L. Mattingly, 61, passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2005, after a long illness at his home in Exeter. David was born June 23, 1943, to Wilmer and Artie (Ryan) Mattingly in Exeter, Mo. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and one sister. He is survived by his wife, Linda Mattingly of the home, and three sons, Sammy Mattingly of Exeter, Mo., Kevin Mattingly and his wife, Jane, of Gadsten, Ala., and Jon Mattingly and his wife, Amanda, of Exeter, Mo., along with three sisters, Delores Hall and Beverly Reed, both of Exeter, Mo., and Ruth England of Monett, Mo., and 10 grandchildren. David married Linda on Sept. 1, 1962, in Exeter, Mo. He was a life-long resident of the area. David belonged to Mt. Zion Southern Baptist Church of Washburn, Mo. David's occupation was that of a self-employed drywaller. Graveside services were Saturday, March 5, 2005, at Maplewood Cemetery in Exeter, Mo., at 10 A.M. There was no visitation and the casket remained closed. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Community Hospice in care of the Wheaton Funeral Home, Wheaton, Mo.
