A son of the late Joe L. and Dora Matthews Pearson, he was a native of Lamar but had lived in San Pablo, Calif., for 52 years, a World War II Navy veteran, retired employee of Standard Oil in Richmond, Calif., affiliated with Rollingwood Lutheran Church, and was preceded in death by two daughters, Evelyn Betty and Marjorie Belle.
