NORTH GARDEN,Hammie Edward Fisher,76,of Route 1,died Thursday morning (Feb.9) at the residence of his niece,Ella Mae Martin,with whom he made his home.
He was born in Albemarle County on Nov.2,1912 a son of the Clinton R. "Toulley" Fisher and Mattie Evans Fisher Huffman.
He was a farmer and orchardist.
Survivors include two sons,Edward R.Fisher of Waynesboro, and Ray B.Fisher of Greenwood Del; one foster son,Marshall Brown of North Garden;one sister,Mrs.Margaret Fisher of Fishersville;two brothers Clinton R.Fisher of Ballard,W.Va and Edward M.Fisher of Crimora;and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife,Ms.Clara Irene Fisher,four brothers,Albert Fisher,Charlie Fisher,Richard Fisher, and George Fisher; one sister Mary Craig and one grandson.
A service will be conducted at 9 a.m.Saturday in the Waynesboro chapel of Etter funeral Home by the Rev.David Witt.Burial will be in Glen Kirk Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Vastine J.Fisher,Wayne D.Fisher,Carl J.Fisher,Henry Fitzgerald,Guy M.Craig,Charles F.Kelley and Ronald Siron.
Honorary pallbearers will be V.Jack Fisher,Denny Fisher,Todd Fisher,Kenny Morris,A.B."Bobby" Sprouse,Wade Fisher,Rev.Joseph M.Jackson and Robert L.Fisher.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 8 in the funeral home.
