David Harper Jung was born on June 28, 1959 in Crookston, MN, the son of Frank and Carol (Schmitt) Jung. Dave grew up and attended school in Crookston, MN graduating in 1977 from Mount St. Benedict High School. He attended the University of North Dakota beginning in 1977 and graduated in 1982 with a Bachelor of Science in BA. Dave worked for Brady Martz as a CPA for 25 years becoming a partner in 1993. On August 23, 1980 he was united in marriage to Beverly Dufault at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Gentilly, MN. They made their home and started their family in Grand Forks, ND. From 1993 to 1999 they lived in Devils Lake, ND, then moved to Thief River Falls, MN and resided there until moving to East Grand Forks, MN in 2006.
Dave enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, Sioux hockey games, golfing, and spending time with his family at Maple Lake. Dave was very active in the Lions Club, Rotary Club, The Knights of Columbus and was president of the United Way and the Rotary Club in Devils Lake, ND. He also served on several other boards. Dave continued giving by donating his corneas to the Lions Eye Bank.
