Daniel A. Sanders Dies From Injuries Received When Struck by Car
Daniel A. Sanders, age 60, highly esteemed resident of the Red House community, died at the Baptist Hospital at Jackson at nine o'clock Saturday night from injuries received in an automobile accident Thanksgiving Day.
Mr. Sanders had spent part of the morning in Prentiss, and rode out as far as Bond Dale's Store with Mr. R. E. Dale on his way home about noon. According to eye witnesses of the accident, as he alighted from the car, he walked around the rear of the vehicle to cross the highway and walked into the path of a car approaching from the opposite direction. He was severely injured about the head and also suffered a broken arm.
Funeral services were held from Whitesand Baptist Church Monday morning at 10:30 o'clock with his pastor, Rev. Joe W. Hudson, officiating. Interment was made in the church cemetery with Aultman-Saulters Funeral Home in charge. Active pall bearers were Bond Dale, F. M. Griffith, Cletus and Clevern McNease, Howard Bridges, Henry Smith, Harold Marks and Vernon Lee.
Immediate survivors are his wife, Mrs. Pearlie Sanders, and the following sons and daughters: Mrs. Leola Parish, Mrs. Lizzie Smith, Mrs. Lois Williamson, Gus, Ned, Jim, Willard and Louis Sanders.
