James David "Jim'' Badders, 82, of San Angelo died Sunday, Dec. 19, 1999, in a local hospital. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 21, at St. Luke United Methodist Church with the Rev. George Lumpkin officiating. Burial will follow in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Johnson's Funeral Home. Mr. Badders was born Sept. 1, 1917, in Port Arthur to James G. Badders and May Brock Badders. He married Marie McClendon Sept. 3, 1942. Jim retired from the United States Air Force in 1961 as a master sergeant. Jim also had been an insurance agent for Prudential for 15 years in the San Angelo area, owning Jordon Co. at the time of his retirement. Mr. Badders was past member of Masonic Lodge 699 in Mertzon, the Waco Scottish Rite, Suez Shrine Temple in San Angelo, the American Legion, past patron of the Eastern Star 826 and St. Luke United Methodist Church. Survivors include a son; a daughter; four grandchildren; and a special friend. The family requests memorials be made to Texas Scottish Rite or Suez Shrine Temple, 2915 Loop 306, San Angelo, TX 76904.
