Mary Sheets
Mary Virginia Burnside Sheets, 86, died Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2004, at a nursing in Woodstock. She had previously resided with her niece, Pat Craft and her husband Ed Craft in Middletown.
Mrs. Sheets was born Sept. 22, 1918, in West Milford, W.Va., the eldest of three children of Edna Mae Davisson Burnside and Orlett L. Burnside.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Richard O. Burnside of Kingwood, W.Va. and her sister, Lillian Broy of Middletown.
She attended Shenandoah University at Dayton and earned an advanced degree from West Virginia University. Her career spanned more than four years as a social worker with West Virginia Department of Public Assistance in Clarksburg, W.Va. and Grafton, W.Va.
Surviving are her niece and husband, Pat and Ed Craft of Middletown; a grandnephew and wife, Andrew and Agnes Craft of Woodstock; two great great-grandnephews, Trevor and Elliot Craft, both of Woodstock; a sister-in-law, Hope Burnside; a nephew and his wife, Michael and Bobbie Sue Burnside; a grandnephew, Bo Burnside; and a grandniece, Nicole Burnside, all of Kingwood, W.Va.
The private arrangements for family only was handled by Stover Funeral Home, Strasburg and interment was in Reliance Cemetery.
