Vernon was born in Anthon, Iowa to George Huffman and Emma (Peterson)Huffman. He was married to Alice Leora Glass on August 20, 1938. He is survived by his widow and three children (Wesley, Violet, and Vicki), seven grandchildren and numerous great grand children. His brothers were: Darrel G. Huffman, David Wesley Huffman, Richard Emery Huffman, and Delmer Glen Huffman. He was a warm and kind hearted man. A carpenter by trade, known for his generous and friendly nature. On June 2, 1986 he passed away suddenly of a brain anuerysm at his home in Beavercreek, Oregon. He was buried on June 4th, 1986 in St. John The Apostle Catholic Cemetery in Oregon City, OR, with services held earlier that same day at St. John The Apostle Catholic Church.
