Mr. Blythe was born in Tippah County, Miss. a son of Mr. and Mrs. C.C. Blythe, and married Jewel May Crosby on Sept. 7, 1935, in Ripley, Miss.
He had been a member of the city council and served as mayor of Tom Bean from 1973 until 1978. Mr. Blythe was a Presbyterian.
Surviving are his wife of Tom Bean; a son, Jeff Blythe of Sherman; daughter, Mrs. Willard A. Croley of Tom Bean; brother, Howard Blythe of Ripley; sisters, Mrs. Fannie Criswell and Mrs. Hester Moore. both of Ripley; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Pallbearers are Gene Larkin, Bill Smallwood, Troy Adams, Pat Stephens, Pat Hamilton, and Dwight Shields.
The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8 P.M. Monday and other times at the home of Mrs. Croley.
