Mrs. Clara Montgomery Harper, 81, widow of Samuel Paul Harper, died Friday in a Georgetown hospital.

The funeral will be 5 p.m. Sunday in Andrews Memorial Cemetery, directed by Mayer Funeral Home.

Mrs. Harper was born in Williamsburg County April 24, 1891, a daughter of the late John James Brockington Montgomery and Mrs. Rebecca McQueen Montgomery.

She attended Williamsburg schools and Winthrop College. She had lived in Andrews since 1916 and was active in the religious and civic life of the community. She was a member of the Andrews Presbyterian Church, the Women of the Church and a charter member of the Rosemary Garden Club.

Surviving are: four sons, Samuel Montgomery Harper and Dr. Robert Davidson Harper of Andrews, John Paul Harper of West Point, Va., and Keith McQueen Harper of Litchfield Beach; two daughters, Mrs. Sarah Harper Bailey and Miss Mary Lenora Harper of Andrews; 18 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
