BELOIT - Christine Budke, 88, Beloit, died Tuesday, Dec. 9, 1997, at Hilltop Lodge Nursing Home, Beloit. Mrs. Budke was born Christine Sahlfeld on Dec. 23, 1908, near Beloit and was a lifelong resident of the area. She was a homemaker; a member of St. John's Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters of America, Ladies Guild, Legion of Mary and Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, all of Beloit; and a former member of Mulberrry Family Community Education.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George in 1966; a son, Paul in 1971; and two grandsons.
Survivors include a son, Duane of Beloit; two daughters, Rosella Krier and Mary Alice Gentry, both of Beloit; a brother, Fred Sahlfeld of Beloit; 12 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. John's Catholic Church, Beloit, the Rev. Henry Baxa officiating and with rites by Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. A rosary will be at 7 p.m. followed by a Catholic Daughters of America rosary Thursday at Harrison Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to St. John's Catholic Memorial Trust Fund. Visitation will be at the funeral home, 302 N. Hersey, Beloit 67420.
