Services Friday For Local Woman

Mrs. S.F.Neel, 73, a resident of this city for the past 20 years, died at 5:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Memorial hospital. Until two weeks ago she had apparently been in usual health. She was taken to the hospital here Saturday night.
Born at Holton in Ripley county on June 26, 1877, she was the daughter of Jacob and Anna Tucker Overturf. She had lived at Holton until 20 years ago, when she moved to Greensburg. Her marriage to Sam F. Neel occurred at Holton on November 19, 1895.
During her residence in Greensburg Mrs. Neel has been a loyal member of the Greensburg Methodist church. She was also affiliated with Lois chapter No.147, Order of Eastern Star and with the W.C.T.U. She was a member of the Daily-Kemble Sunday school class here.
Mrs. Neel and her husband reared three nieces and two nephews, children of her sister, the late Mrs. Anna McClure. A nephew, Paul McClure, passed away in 1951.
The survivors are: The husband, Sam F. Neel, of this city; three nieces, Mrs. Jack (Martha) Olds, of Los Angeles, Calif., Mrs. Naomi Mathews and Mrs. George (Mary) Miller, of Fort Wayne; a nephew, Jacob McClure, of Fort Wayne; two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth King, of Greensburg, and Mrs. Vernon (Pearl) Hudson, of North Vernon. The sister, Mrs. Anna McClure and two brothers, Alonzo Overturf and Clifton Overturf, preceded her in death.
Funeral rites will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Greensburg Methodist church. The Rev. Guy D. Carpenter, pastor of the church, will officiate. Burial will be made in South Park cemetery. Friends may call at the late residence at 217 West North street after 6 p.m. Wednesday.
