Wesley Greer and Mary Frances moved to Burnet County, Texas during the winter of 1853-54. Wesley's brother, Josiah Greer, built a grist and saw mill on Morgan Creek in the Council Creek community of Burnet County in the early 1860s, and some of the Greers lived for a time in that community.

Wesley and Mark Frances married 11/14/1844 in Union Parish, Louisiana. They had four children. Their first child, Susannah Permelia, married Thomas Fry and died in 1868 at the age of 21. Their second child, William Jefferson, died in 1928 at the age of 80. Their third child, Wesley Marion, died about 1870 supposedly from a fall from his horse, he was a cattle driver. He is recorded in the Burnet County, Texas 1870 census as living with Wesley and Mary Jane Keele (his step mother). Wesley and Mary Frances' fourth child, James Nathaniel died in 1853 prior to the trip to Texas and is buried in Louisiana. Mary Frances died November 25, 1856 at the age of 26. Wesley and his second wife Mary Jane Keele are buried in the City of Llano Cemetary.
