Clarence W. "Pete" Fraise, 89, of West Point, died at 8:05 p.m. on Friday, April 8, 2005, at Fort Madison Community Hospital.

He was born Feb. 25, 1916 in St. Paul to Frank and Anna Klesner Fraise. On July 17, 1947, he married Mildred "Millie" Elaine Eckhardt at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Fort Madison. She survives.

He was a retired gas truck driver from Jet Gas. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in West Point, served with the West Point Fire Department, and was a pitcher for the West Point Fast Pitch Softball Team.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons: Garry Fraise of Boise, Idaho and James (wife Denise) Fraise of Fort Madison; three daughters: Dianna (husband David) Sheppard of Fort Madison, Linda Fraise of Fort Madison, and Mary (husband Larry) Tucker of Mesa, Ariz.; one sister, Rose (husband Kenny) Knoch of Fort Madison, one sister-in-law, Martha Fraise of Franklin; seven grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, two great grandsons, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, one granddaughter, two sisters, and eight brothers.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 12, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in West Point with the Rev. Apo Mpanda officiating. Friends may call after 1 p.m. Monday, April 11, at the Link Funeral Home in West Point. The Rosary will be recited at 3 p.m. The family will meet with friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., with a wake service at 6:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery in West Point.
