Estel, daughter of Milton and Sabra Wamsley Molsberry, spent her early life in IA. A first marriage at a young age lasted less than a year.

Shortly after studying to become a telephone operator, she married Harry McCool on Dec. 14, 1915 and moved to OH. A son, Jack, was born there. Sometime later, Estel and Harry divorced. Another short-lived marriage in 1929, Estel then married Fred Hunt around 1930.

Her son, Jack only 18, was killed in a rollover accident in 1937. Estel and Fred managed the Hotel Lanborg in Lansing, IA around 1940.

She later married Melvin L. Norris and moved to TX where they managed the Park Crest Motel.

On Sunday Oct. 27,1968 Estel was fatally beaten to death while working at the motel, while her husband slept in a rear apartment. A tragic end to someone well loved by family and friends.

The murder of Estel Norris was never solved.

The death records show Estel being born in 1907, however, according to Census records, she was born in 1894. This would have made her 73 years old at her death.
