Shirley was born May 12, 1928 in South Waverly, PA. She was the daughter of Howard and Iva Belle (Morris) Alger. She spent her childhood in Nichols, NY and was a graduate of the Nichols High School class of 1945. She was a long time member of the Nichols United Methodist Church.
She married Albert Baldwin on June 15,1947 in Brooklyn, NY. They spent their married life in and around Nichols. She worked at J.J.Newberry's in Owego and later worked and retired from the Community Bank in Nichols. She treasured the time she spent with her family and enjoyed reading, sewing, and especially was very talented at counted cross stitch. Her pictures and birth samplers are in the homes of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her children Deborah, Denise and Dana. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
She passed away on July 25, 2009 and is reunited with Albert who passed away on October 31, 1989.
