Robert Riley "Bob" Friedrichs, 81, of Lisbon, died Monday, May 20, 2002, in Hallmark Care Center, Mount Vernon, after a long illness. Private family services will be held at a later date. Burial: Silver Creek Cemetery, Masonville. Arrangements with Teahen Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids.

Survivors include his wife, Alva; a son, Dennis of Lewisville, Texas; and three daughters, Linda Meyer of Dike, Jackie Barnhart of Pinedale, Wyo., and Mary Graybill of Ryan.

Also surviving are seven grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Bob was born June 20, 1920, in Aplington, to Carl and Hatie Hahn Friedrichs. He married Alva Irene Kinsedahl on Feb. 24, 1947, in Green.

He worked for Schwann's as a route salesman for 20 years, retiring in 1997. Later he was a grounds keeper and bus driver for the Mount Vernon Schools. He served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the American Legion.
