Mr. Gip Bartlett, 74, of 1720 St. Luke St., Augusta, Georgia, entered into rest at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, November 27, 1965, in a local hospital after an illness of one month. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Monday at Elliott Sons Chapel with the Rev. Herman Thomas Jr. officiating, assisted by the Rev. John F. Moore. Burial will be in West View Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Thurston Gay Jr., Clinton Maddox, George Crawford, Millard Hardin, Robert Davidson, D.T. Mathis, James McClain Sr. and Woodrow Wilson. He was a native of Columbia County and a member of the Baptist church. A veteran of World War I, he was a retired farmer at the time of his death. Survivors include his wife Mrs. Lizzie B. Bartlett; one brother, Louis Bartlett of Augusta, and a number of nieces and nephews.
