Mary Morecock was *baptized* (FindaGrave forces it to be listed in the vital-event section as a birth date) in the parish of Smarden, county Kent, England, *21* September 1623. Her parents were Henry Morecock (bur. Smarden 23 May 1625) and Aphra/Audria/Audrey (*Corke* [not Cooke]) (b. ca. 1590 [aged 45 in 1635]; d. by 1639); they married in St. Margaret's Church, Canterbury, Kent, 4 June 1616. After Henry's death, Audrey married in St. Mary Magdalene Church, Canterbury, 1 October 1625, Thomas Whitton, with whom she immigrated to Massachusetts in 1635 on the _Elizabeth & Ann_, along with her three Morecock children, including Mary.

Mary (Morecock) Brown was born in England and, according to the Great Migration series, emigrated with her brothers in 1635....so she couldn't have been born in New England .Born about 1625 (aged 10 on 12 May 1635). Came from Benenden, Kent, to Plymouth Colony in 1635 on the "Elizabeth & Ann" & settled in Plymouth MA. (On 12 may 1635, "Marie Morecock, "aged 10, in a group with a certificate of conformity from the minister at Benenden, Kent, was enrolled at London as a passenger for New England on the Elizabeth & Ann.) Died after 27 Jun 1685 (named in husband's will).

Mary Morecock was sister of BENNETT MORECOCK {1635, Plymouth} & NICHOLAS MORECOCK {1635, Plymouth}, who sailed to New England with her. (Nicholas, who was baptised 22 Apr 1621 in Smarden, Kent, son of Henry & Audrey (Cock) Morecock, has not been found in any New England records, though another "Nicholas Moorcock is recorded in Wethersfield CT.)
On 24 Jun 1639, "Mary Moorecock hath of her own voluntary will, with consent of her father-in-law, Thomas Whitton, put herself apprentice with Richard Sparrow, of Plymouth, and Pandora , his wife, and after the manner of an apprentice with them to dwell from the day of the date hereof unto the end & term of nine years now next ensuing, & fully to be complete and ended, the said Richard Sparrow finding his said servant meat, drink, & apparrel during the said term, and shall also keep her an ewe lamb which her said father-in-law will bestow upon her during the said term, and shall have the third part of the increAse thereof for his charge & labor,... and if it shall happen that the said Mary shall have a motion of marriage before the end of said term, that it shall be referred to two indifferent men to arbitrate what the said Richard shall have for his charges he shal have been at with her."
