The body of Miss Sally Ann Cox, age 50, was laid to rest in the Old Johnsonville Cemetery Saturday afternoon at 5 o'clock under a blanket of flowers that bespoke a beautiful tribute to the high esteem in which she was held by those who had felt the touch of her sweet Christian influence.

Miss "Sally Ann" as she was lovingly called passed to her reward at 11:10 Friday morning after a long illness at her late residence in the Johnsonville community.

She was the daughter of the late Robert Franklin Cox and the late Miss Frances Huggins. She is survived by the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. M. B. Huggins of Timmonsville, Mrs D. W. Simmons of Johnsonville, Mrs. Furman Finklea of Hyman, Miss Eccie Cox of Johnsonville, Miss Eleanor Cox of Columbia, John F. Cox of Hemingway, Charlie Cox of Timmonsville and Robert Dudley Cox of Johnsonville.



She was a life long member of the Methodist church and taught Sunday school for girls as long as her health permitted. She was a public school teacher.

The funeral services were conducted by her pastor, Rev. Martin, assisted by Rev. W. F. Way.

The palbearers were her nephews, Furman Finklea, George Elbert Simmons, Bill Cox, James Huggins, Harry Cox and Herman Cox.
