"DEATHS---In Fryeburg, 10th inst. Wm. Wiley, Esq. aged 74 years. Mr. W. was one of the oldest residents of the area in which he died and served as a soldier through the war of 1812, being engaged at Plattsburg, Chataque and most of the battles fought by our North-western army. After the war he resided in the town of Mercer, Somerset County, from which place he soon after removed to Fryburg, where he continued to reside until the time of his decease, living much respected by all who knew him, and dying lamented by a numerous circle of relations and friends. He reared a large family of children, who reside in different parts of this State, and was the father of Hon. J. S. Wiley, ex-Member of Congress from this District."
