Nebraska City, Otoe, Nebraska
25 June 1886
N A(sic) Dunkle was buried at
Hopewell on last Saturday.
Services were conducted
by Rev T D Davis.
Eight weeks ago he left his
home here and went to his
brother's (George McKinney)
in Case county, where he
remained almost bedfast a
greater portion of the
time, gradually growing
weaker, until that
lingering disease,
consumption, claimed him
as its own.
Less than a year ago Mrs D was
buried at the same cemetery,
dying of the same disease.
They leave four little orphan
children to mourn their death
and to find homes among
strangers.
They emigrated here a little
over three years ago from
Page county, Iowa, and
improved a nice little farm
in this neighborhood.
