Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Cumerford and Endsley Memorial Home with the Rev. Martin Reichart of Grace Lutheran Church and the Rev. M. L. Bischoff, pastor of St. Paul's Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in Springdale Cemetery.
An invalid since 1947, when he suffered a heart attack, Dr. Blender has been hospitalized several times in recent years.
A son of Francis Xavier and Dorothea Kramer Blender, he married Meda May Klotz in 1907. He servied as President of St. Francis Hospital staff in 1936; president of the Peoria Medical Society in 1943, and a member of the Illinois Lodge of Masons.
Surviving are his wife; two sons, Lt. Col. Thomas K. Blender, U.S. Army and Dr. William Blender, Jr.; a daughter, Miss Dorthea Blender, a Chicago attorney; three brothers, Charles, Edward, and Paul; a sister, Mrs. Bertha Shinn of LaHarpe; and six grandchildren. One, son, Charles, preceded hiim in death.
