Edna M. Snyder, 93, died Wednesday, April 14, 2010, in the E.C.C. Retirement Home in Myerstown. She was the wife of Russell C. Snyder, who died in August 1968. She was born in Frystown, on August 11, 1916, a daughter of the late Ira and Cora Bashore Gibble. She was a graduate of Bethel High School class of 1934. She was a cook in the Bethel Elementary School cafeteria, where she worked for 35 years before her retirement at the age of 80. She was a member of Little Swatara Church of the Brethren, where she was a lifetime deacon of the church and sang in the ladies chorus for many years. She also taught music to three and four year olds, directed kitchen activities, and was a ladies' aid member. She enjoyed spending time with her family and was active in helping needy community members. She was the youngest of eight children and is survived by her children, Ronald L. and wife, Jean Snyder of Myerstown, Sharon, wife of Michael Dosch of Myerstown, and Sheila Neuman-Raup, wife of Darren Raup of Myerstown; grandchildren, Timothy S. Snyder, Stephen R. Snyder, Stacey L. Wolfe, Lori M. Herr, Heather N. Kline, R. Joshua Deck, Julie M. Dosch, and Jeremiah D. Fake; great-grandchildren, Kevin R. Snyder, Sarah E. Snyder, Wyatt J. Herr, Chase M. Herr, and Hayden F. Deck; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra F. Deck. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 20, at 11 a.m. in the Little Swatara Church of the Brethren, Bethel. Viewing will be Tuesday from 10 a.m. to the time of service in the church.
